E-Commerce Expert For A Salvadoran Cookware And Kitchen Utensil Manufacturer

Consult remotely for a business in El Salvador.

The business wants to develop and execute new consumer-facing and e-commerce sales strategies for the U.S. market.

What you will be doing:

This business manufactures a variety of cookware and kitchen utensils including pots and pans, paella dishes and rice cookers. Their products are used in both home and industrial kitchens, and are currently sold in El Salvador, across several Central American countries, and the United States primarily via wholesalers and distributors.

They are looking to create a dynamic, consumer-facing image and content to grow their direct to consumer and e-commerce sales, particularly for the Central American market in the United States.

The leadership team is eager to learn how to develop and execute a new consumer-facing sales strategy for the U.S. market.

As a Bpeace volunteer Skillanthropist, you will use your market expansion and e-commerce experience to:

  • Help the leadership team develop an e-commerce roadmap including strategies for establishing online prices, online campaigns/digital marketing, and drive customer engagement.
  • Assess expansion opportunities and develop a plan for sales across different platforms, such as Amazon, and/or other e-commerce points of sale.
  • Advise on best practices in online direct-to-consumer strategies including in relationship management, customer data management and business analytics.

The impact of your work will help the business expand so they can continue to create jobs that provide dignity as well as economic stability to their workers and community as a powerful alternative to violence.

Over the course of three months you will:

  • Validate needs with the business and draft a scope of work. Bpeace staff will facilitate the initial conversations between you and your “client.”
  • Provide approximately 4 days of remote consulting advice delivered via weekly Zoom calls of approximately 2 hours each (preferably the same day/time each week), based on a schedule agreed upon between you and the business.
  • On the final call, develop a Forward Action Plan in collaboration with the business with clear next steps.

More jobs are critical in El Salvador right now to help stem the flow of irregular migration. Small and medium businesses account for 60% of the economy. Steady employment provides legitimate alternatives for Salvadorans who would otherwise migrate or pursue illegal activities and gangs. Your advice and expertise will help these businesses create jobs and build a stable future for their workers and communities.

Where you will be doing it:

Remotely with a Bpeace staffer facilitating each consulting session to ensure engagement and continuity.

You are qualified if you:
  • Have extensive knowledge of e-commerce strategies and platforms for the U.S. market.
  • Can apply your experience to helping an existing business successfully develop a new direct-to-consumer strategy via a greater online presence.
  • Enjoy sharing your knowledge of online retail industry in the U.S. market.
  • Can volunteer approximately 4 days between December and March to be a remote business advisor.
  • Harbor passion for business and/or creating jobs in economically fragile El Salvador.

Discovery: 2-4 hours over the first 1-2 weeks
