Director, Corporate and Major Donor Engagement

Report to: CAO

Base Location: Remote based in U.S. with frequent U.S. and occasional international travel


The Director of Corporate and Major Donor Engagement leads the development and executes all aspects of Bpeace’s corporate partnership and major gifts strategy to support Bpeace’s mission of job creation and advancing the economic power of women in crisis-affected communities.

They embody Bpeace’s values and culture and work under the strategic direction of the CAO, and in collaboration with the CEO and CPO to build and deliver strategies that result in significant revenue growth, increased and sustained corporate partner engagement and successful volunteer Skillanthropist recruitment.

This position’s primary focus is identifying, building and maintaining partnerships that have the potential to catalyze Bpeace’s impact through major gifts, grants, foundation support, significant in-kind resources, and/or a pool of new volunteer Skillanthropists.

The Director of Corporate and Major Donor Engagement is an entrepreneurial leader and experienced relationship builder with an extensive network that has the capacity to make transformational gifts; they possess technical knowledge of effective formal partnerships and major giving strategy and understand how to communicate the benefits of a Bpeace partnership to corporations, foundations and major donors.

A key advisor to the organization in this area of expertise, they champion a creative, integrative approach to fundraising that builds supporter loyalty and drives achievement of revenue goals established annually in collaboration with the CAO, CPO and CEO.

In the first year of this new position, a successful Director of Corporate and Major Donor Engagement will directly raise a minimum of $200,000 in new support and activate 60 new volunteer Skillanthropists.
Bpeace is expanding quickly and there is great potential to build on a successful foundation of fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Job Summary

Community building and relationship management

  • Define and deliver activities that build awareness of Bpeace’s impact; engage corporations, foundations and donors; support Board fundraising efforts as requested.
  • Build funder/partner engagement in collaboration with and under the direction of the CAO and CPO.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of year-round relationships with prospects and donors. Identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors leveraging personal and professional contacts and relationships into fundraising opportunities.
  • Develop engagement plans to help create meaningful relationships and implement strategies to ensure an impactful experience that supports sustained giving.
  • Collaborate with Program and BpeaceHQ teams to define and execute scalable corporate and foundation partnerships by identifying new prospects and opportunities, developing lead pitch presentations to secure partners in a customer-facing approach, leveraging own networks, and identifying and engaging the networks of key Bpeace stakeholders.

Strategy and reporting

  • Collaborate with CAO and lead the development of the engagement and revenue generation strategy for major and corporate giving.
  • Develop key objectives and KPIs, and provide active project management and ongoing monitoring to ensure the delivery on strategic objectives and our partners’ and donors’ expectations.
  • Enter and oversee for accuracy all donor information using the Salesforce CRM, provide statistical analysis to the Board and the Bpeace Leadership team as needed.

Resource generation

  • Maintain and build current individual donor, corporate and foundation relationships; work under the direction of the CAO to extend and develop the community of donors and corporate partners.
  • Functional execution and management —carry out corporate and individual giving activities and draw on the Bpeace leadership team to enhance your efforts.
  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective individual donors and corporate partners; research and work to continually identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and new constituents for operating, endowment, program/project, campaign, and planned gifts.
  • Conduct research and create ways to link corporate and donor goals with Bpeace programs, initiatives and volunteer opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure that corporate and major donor opportunities are explored, presented, and secured.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver differentiated communications to member segments in support of revenue generation and volunteer recruitment.
  • Under the guidance of the CAO, define, manage and deliver engagement and revenue generating events.

  • Ensure that any activities, policies and processes developed foster diversity, equity and inclusion amongst team members, funders, partners, Skillanthropists and Fast Runners.
  • Work to build and foster effective connections and communication with and between colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with Bpeace policies and processes pertaining to fundraising and engagement.
  • Responsible for own development and supporting the development of others.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven track record specifically working with NGOs to build donor communities and identify and secure major gifts from individuals and corporations.
  • Possess an extensive network comprised of corporate partners and individuals seeking to invest in and support entrepreneurial solutions with proven social impact.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to engage Bpeace corporate partners and donors.
  • Proven track record of researching, closing, and stewarding prospects for six-and seven-figure gifts.
  • Technical knowledge and expertise in building effective corporate partnerships (contracting, deal points, evaluation, etc.).


Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced studies degree in Business, Public Administration or related field.
  • Proven track record in business development or corporate fundraising, ability to pivot and articulate Bpeace’s social mission and ROI depending on audience.
  • Experience sourcing and securing foundation support and successfully building and executing a major gifts program.
  • Demonstrated success in building, managing and executing a revenue strategy and achieving goals while overseeing several time-sensitive and concurrent projects.
  • Collaborative, highly motivated and creative thinker who takes pride in their work and goes above and beyond to ensure planned results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, concise and compelling writer; extensive cross-cultural awareness to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Relevant experience in the areas of marketing, brand management, and public relations highly desirable.

Work Experience

  • Eight (8)+ years of experience successfully developing, leading and executing corporate, foundation, and individual donor partnership and fundraising programs at organizations with annual operating budgets exceeding $5 million.
  • Five (5)+ years of experience directly developing relationships with corporations and foundations specifically to engage employees as volunteers and secure financial support.

Physical / Environmental Conditions

  • With headquarters based in the U.S., Bpeace is a remote organization, no office is provided.
  • The majority of your day is spent utilizing a computer and technology to communicate with donors, partners, international Bpeace staff, Fast Runner businesses and volunteer Skillanthropists.

  • A computer with a functioning web camera that supports the most recent stable version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge Chromium and Microsoft Office License.
  • Consistent access to a reliable hi-speed Internet connection. (Network latency of 100 ms or less. Minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps. Minimum download speed of 50-100 Mbps.)
  • Minimum 8 GB of RAM.
