The Skills You Share Change Lives

"I was able to participate in pro bono consulting for an entrepreneur in El Salvador, and the experience has been one my most positive professional experiences to date. I look forward to continuing to be involved with Bpeace, and I can't wait to be a part of the continued successes."

Lauren Leland, Illinois

"Volunteering for Bpeace and working pro bono in El Salvador was one of the hardest decisions of my life having been in the corporate world for 30 years. The reality was that it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The commitment of the Bpeace people both on the ground and behind the scenes is amazing as is their choice of the Fast Runner companies that they seek to help. The desire for knowledge and willingness to accept ideas of the small bakery that I worked with was truly humbling. Bpeace is an inspirational organization and long may it continue."

Aja Somal, United Kingdom

"Working with Bpeace has been the best volunteering experience of my career. As a Traveling Mentor I got to work hands on with the people that benefit from Bpeace's work. It was extremely productive and rewarding!"

Liz Long, Massachusetts

"I have been with Bpeace as a volunteer for four years, and three of my family members have participated in their efforts as well. Enabling entrepreneurs in countries of conflict to create more jobs, especially for women, increases community capacity and stability--and eliminates poverty and desperation that so often seed violence. All of the entrepreneurs I have met and supported have impressive drive that has enabled them to succeed and truly benefit from the extra support, mentoring, and training Bpeace provides. I look forward to continued involvement in the years to come."

Karen Vander Linde, Washington, DC

"I have been volunteering with Bpeace for five years, mostly in Afghanistan and have witnessed our impact on women entrepreneurs. The work is intellectually very stimulating. Resources and tools that are readily available here in U.S. are not in countries in which we operate, so we need to be creative. It's all very fulfilling. Try it and you will never want to do anything else!"

Mojdeh Barros, New Hampshire

Full Disclosure

We ask our member/volunteers to contribute to our mission with a monthly donation. These membership donations contribute about 6% of our annual operating budget. We do sometimes offer complimentary memberships to experts with particular technical skills in high demand by our Fast Runner entrepreneurs. Traveling Mentors may sometimes be eligible for financial subsidies to partially offset travel costs.
