Bpeace donors promote peace from the inside-out by supporting Afghan and Rwandan female entrepreneurs who have the courage to create jobs in their communities, which results in more stability. More jobs mean less violence.

Bpeace donors have helped:

• Build a private pre-school in Kabul for 500 children, enabling their parents to go to work;
• Provide computers to 50 Afghan and Rwandan female entrepreneurs who together employee more than 1,200 people;
• Improve the skills of 40 Rwandan hair stylists so that they can increase their earnings and better provide for their families;
• Provide $500 Rwanda field grants to Associates enabling: a commercial landscaper to improve the signage on her trucks, attract more customers and therefore create more jobs; a commercial photographer to better compete by providing her with up-to-date digital equipment; preventing a small freight forwarder partnership from going out of business because it could not afford a government-mandated fax machine;
• Supply the security deposit so that 8 Afghan women could sign a lease and open their own co-op store in Kabul;
• Provide wool sweaters to 500 girls who otherwise would not be able to go to school and employment to the 30 widows who hand-knit them;
• Subsidize the airfare for 15 Afghan female entrepreneurs to attend a week of practical finance, marketing and HR classes at Dubai Women's College;
• Advance female entrepreneurs in our program by paying for the interpretation services for traveling mentors who each spent one month in Rwanda working side-by-side with an Associate.
• Launch the Bpeace Economic Development Fund, which helps partly guarantee loans for female entrepreneurs who might otherwise not have access to capital;
• Keep open the Bpeace offices in Kigali, Kabul and New York as the gateway for volunteers to provide training and pro-bono consulting services.
